This guide assumes that you have already downloaded the "FortiToken Mobile" Application to your mobile phone.

How to Install Application for Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)


Before we start, please check your email inbox on your computer to ensure you have received an Activation email that looks similar to the below:



If you do not have this email, please contact itsupport@rbservices.co.nz.


1. Find the FortiToken Mobile App installed on your mobile phone, tap on it to open it.




2. Once the FortiToken Mobile App has opened, tap on "Scan Barcode" in the bottom left corner.



3. The first time you enter this screen your phone will ask you for permission to access your mobile phones camera. Make sure you tap on "Allow" and your phones camera will activate.


4.  Open up the Activation email on your computer and double click on the attachment.

The attachment is a QR Code (Square Barcode) 




5. Point your phones camera at the QR Code on your computer.

Note: You will need to make sure the full QR code displays on your phones screen so don't get too close.



6. Once you have successfully scanned the QR code, the screen will change and show you a 6 digit code.

Note: If you do not see the numbered code, you can tap on the icon that looks like an Eye to toggle this on and off.

This code will change every 60 seconds and will be the code you need to enter when connecting to the RBS Server(s).
